Your dentist may advice this treatment when the tooth is inflamed from infection. Infection that has travelled far enough to involve the pulp.
During the procedure, your tooth is thoroughly cleaned, disinfected and filled up permanently. This generally requires 2-3 appointments depending on the degree of infection.
Afterwards, the tooth usually requires a crown in order to protect it from fracture, damage and re-infection.

- swollen gums.
